Full Time Facility Custodian for Front and Back of House

Job Description:

We are looking for a responsible
Custodian
to maintain and protect the our new facilities at Second Harvest of South Georgia, Inc. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism.

• General Cleaning
  • Removal of all disposable waste
  • Sweeping
  • Mopping
  • Vacuuming
  • Dusting
  • Daily complete cleaning and maintenance of all restrooms
    • Floors
    • Fixtures
    • Other hard surfaces
    • Stairwell and all metal works
    • Exterior windows to include frames and all accessible metal work
• Specialized Cleaning
  • Setup for special events in our conference rooms, banquet hall and other common areas
  • Breakdown and complete cleaning following special events

• Clean, sweep, mop floors, and dust fixtures
• Maintain cleanliness of administrative and common spaces of facility
• Use appropriate cleaning products
• Adhere to culture and standards of Second Harvest of South Georgia
• Various Meeting Room setup and post-event breakdown and cleaning
• Report all damage noted during scheduled work hours
• Prepare spaces for orderly operation the next working day
• Vacuum carpets and remove and dispose of all waste
• Wash and sanitize sinks, toilets, and other fixtures daily
• Wipe mirrors, stairwell rails, and entry area of the building
• Water plants if directed
• Clean all door facings, frames, and openings
• Assist in securing facilities as directed

• Experience in custodial position with proven and verifiable success
• Experience in event setup and breakdown with a safe, efficient, and steady turnaround timeframe
• Valid and insurable driver's license, issued by the state in which applicant currently resides
• Ability to complete the SHSG Assessment Process
  • Employment reference verification through previous supervisors
  • Clearance to work with and around minors in the state of Georgia
  • Upon acceptance of job offer, conditional new hire will complete the Drugs Don't Work requirements for the state of Georgia
  • Upon acceptance of job offer, conditional new hire will clear background check due to access and nature of the position offered
