JOB LOCATION: Main Campus
DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION SERVICES
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift
POSITION SUMMARYInstalls, configures, maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems hardware, peripherals and software pertaining to a LAN. Provides telephone, email, and on-site support to end users for local and LAN-based applications, hardware and LAN issues. Ensures appropriate computer user rights are maintained according to security and systems groups.
May be directed to perform other job related duties and responsibilities, to include, but not limited to:
- Maintaining backups of all enterprise LAN application servers on tape, disk, or other mass storage.
- Administrative duties within the IT procurement process and asset management duties regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software.
- Some Systems Administration duties.
- Prefer an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Demonstrates growth in continuing education on latest technology as it relates to the job.
- Must be self-motivated, detailed, deadline and service-oriented individual that can accurately set priorities.
- Must possess precise written verbal communications, problem solving, organizational and technical skills.
Required to work flexible schedule in order to accommodate on-call and other responsibility including accessing system from out-of-campus to analyze/resolve system problem/halts. Required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays on occasions during conversion of software/operating system, or installation of enhancements/hardware, or to meet deadlines. Require full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity, eye and hand coordination. Requires standing, walking, and sitting for periods of time.
Requires corrected vision to acceptable range. Work in general office environment. No temperature extremes are evident. Work setting is frequently fast-paced and occasionally variable-paced. Requires lifting, approximately 50 pounds, transporting and installing computer equipment. Possible exposure to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases.
