OverviewLegacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community. We are seeking a Case Manager to work in our Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program in Valdosta, Georgia. The MAT Case Manager/ Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), under general supervision, performs a wide range of tasks in the community outside four walls to assist consumers in regaining control over their own lives while promoting the recovery process.
Utilizing psychiatric rehabilitation interventions, peer support interventions provide skills training, education and case management to consumers and their families. Support and facilitate consumer progress towards treatment goals. Extensive documentation is required; accurate and timely charts, services and consumer progress that support care coordination. The MAT Case Manager must be able to work well with community agencies and function as part of a team.
As a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), this position also serves as a consumer advocate; provides consumer information and peer support to consumers in an emergency, outpatient, or inpatient setting. The MAT Case Manager/ CPS performs a wide range of tasks to assist consumers in regaining control over their own lives and over their recovery process. Function as a role model of competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills.

Responsibilities include working in the MAT program, providing case management, peer support, information, and advocacy to consumers in various settings, promoting recovery, documenting services and progress, and coordinating with community agencies as part of a treatment team.
Qualifications- Completion of 2 years college with preferred bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health, nursing, education, sociology, criminal justice, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, guidance counseling or an equivalent field AND one year of full-time experience in social services delivery
- Knowledge of mental illness
- Eligible for certification as Peer Specialist by the Georgia Department of Human Resources
- Preferred lived experience with opioid addiction; CARES certification or willingness to obtain; 2 or more years in sustained recovery

Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off-campus locations in LBHSGA or personal vehicle.
