Job Summary
Assistant/Associate Professor DNP Program Nurse Anesthesia – Augusta University. Full-time, 12-month faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.
Responsibilities- Engage in didactic teaching in DNP core and/or concentration courses
- Course coordination and evaluation
- Partner with preceptors for student learning and evaluation
- Participate in curricular development and evaluation
- Participate on College of Nursing and university committees
- Mentor students in DNP projects
- Engage in scholarly activities (presentations and publications)
- Other responsibilities may vary by DNP concentration
- Doctorate degree relevant to the area of practice (PhD, DNP, DNAP)
- Active licensure to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia
- Board certification in area of specialty (CRNA)
- One-year experience as a full-time nurse anesthetist
- Assistant Professor – Early level career as a faculty member
- Associate Professor – Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for institutional accreditation
- Evidence of ability as a teacher
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned
- Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements)
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations
- Academic teaching experience in didactic and clinical instruction in a nursing anesthesia program
- Comfort with technology‑infused engaging pedagogical strategies including simulation and other active learning modalities
- Evidence of contribution to the profession and recognition at the local, regional, or national level
- Evidence of scholarship through publication and/or professional presentations
This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. The intended work commitment or full‑time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full‑time.
- Assistant Professor – Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. Salary is subject to availability of funds.
