Job Summary

Assistant/Associate Professor DNP Program Nurse Anesthesia – Augusta University. Full-time, 12-month faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in didactic teaching in DNP core and/or concentration courses
  • Course coordination and evaluation
  • Partner with preceptors for student learning and evaluation
  • Participate in curricular development and evaluation
  • Participate on College of Nursing and university committees
  • Mentor students in DNP projects
  • Engage in scholarly activities (presentations and publications)
  • Other responsibilities may vary by DNP concentration
Required Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree relevant to the area of practice (PhD, DNP, DNAP)
  • Active licensure to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia
  • Board certification in area of specialty (CRNA)
  • One-year experience as a full-time nurse anesthetist
  • Assistant Professor – Early level career as a faculty member
  • Associate Professor – Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience
  • Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for institutional accreditation
  • Evidence of ability as a teacher
  • Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned
  • Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements)
  • Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic teaching experience in didactic and clinical instruction in a nursing anesthesia program
  • Comfort with technology‑infused engaging pedagogical strategies including simulation and other active learning modalities
  • Evidence of contribution to the profession and recognition at the local, regional, or national level
  • Evidence of scholarship through publication and/or professional presentations
Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. The intended work commitment or full‑time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full‑time.

  • Assistant Professor – Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. Salary is subject to availability of funds.
  • Associate Professor – Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. Salary is subject to availability of funds.
