Job SummaryThe selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Based on the Proclamation:
Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers (H-1B), VSU will not sponsor new H-1B petitions until further notice.
The Department of Human Services seeks part-time faculty to teach courses at the undergraduate or graduate level in Counselor Education, Marriage and Family Therapy, Educational Psychology, and Industrial Organizational Psychology. Programs include online and on-campus formats as described below:
- Counselor Education — online and may include Practicum/Internship requirements;
Ph.D. in Counselor Education (Required for some roles). - Educational Psychology — online and/or asynchronous coursework; M.Ed. or Ph.D. in Educational Psychology or closely related field (Required).
- Industrial Organizational Psychology — online or blended formats;
Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or related field (Required). - Marriage and Family Therapy — fully in-person on campus in Valdosta, GA (Required).
Typical Allocation of Duties: 100% Teaching
Required QualificationsCounselor Education — Ph.D. in Counselor Education
Marriage and Family Therapy — Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field;
Experienced clinician; AAMFT Approved Supervision Certification or Georgia State board equivalent
Educational Psychology — M.Ed. or Ph.D. in Educational Psychology or closely related field
Industrial Organizational Psychology — Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or related field
Essential Qualifications (all Programs)
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting
- A record of mentoring students
- Experience teaching online
Commensurate with experience.
