OverviewThe selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate s area of expertise.
Based on the recent Proclamation:
Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers (H-1B), VSU will not be sponsoring any new H-1B visa petitions until further notice.
- This position entails providing clinical teaching and supervision on and/or off campus during fall, spring, and/or summer semesters.
- The primary focus is to provide clinical supervision and training to graduate student clinicians.
- Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with maintaining program development (e.g., establishing and following policies and procedures, forms, or protocols), mentoring CSD students on and/or off campus, teaching clinical seminars, supervising simulated experiences (e.g., using Simucase).
- Assisting with marketing and client outreach to increase client volume, and participation in undergraduate student learning experiences.
- Typical Allocation of Duties: Teaching - 100%
- Master s degree in the appropriate field (Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders);
Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from ASHA; - Eligible for state licensure in speech-language pathology in Georgia;
- Maintain compliance with departmental policies and ASHA requirements regarding required minimum standards for observation/oversight of graduate student clinicians treatment and diagnostic activities;
- Minimum of three years service in public schools, healthcare, or teaching at the University level;
- Minimum of one year experience in speech-language pathology supervision;
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting;
- A record of mentoring students;
- Expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in individuals from 0-99+ years of age and/or school age disorders;
- Experience working with individuals with a variety of disorders including literacy, school-aged language, pediatric feeding, autism, cognitive, swallowing/feeding, and assistive technology.
