Job Summary

The English Department at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) seeks applicants for Lecturer positions beginning August 1, 2026. GGC emphasizes a student-centered learning environment and applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to student success. We value and encourage innovative teaching. In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in extensive student engagement and service to the college and community. Advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty.

Successful candidates for Lecturer positions will be expected to teach a 5/5 load of lower-division, general education courses, unless the need arises in a specialty area of the candidate s scholarship.

Required Qualifications

Master s degree in the teaching discipline; or a Master s degree with 18 graduate semester credits in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in the teaching discipline
  • 2-3 years college level teaching experience
  • Preference may be given to Lecturers with a background in Rhetoric and Composition and/or developmental writing
  • Preference may be given to applicants with a background in Professional Writing and Journalism
