Job SummaryThe Biology Program is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach introductory core biology courses for non-biology majors, service courses (i.e., human anatomy & physiology) for students majoring in nursing and related allied health and health professional fields, and/or advanced Biology courses (e.g., microbiology, cellular & molecular biology) depending upon specific qualifications. Part-time faculty are critical to the mission of the Biology Program.
Part-time positions may or may not be available every semester; part-time faculty are hired as needed. However, part-time opportunities are typically available each semester.
- To teach introductory biology core curriculum lecture and/or laboratory courses (e.g., BIOL 1010, 1010L, 1107, 1107L, 1108, 1108L). Lift 25 lbs.
- To teach biology-based lecture and/or laboratory service courses for nursing and related allied health and health professional fields (e.g., Human Anatomy & Physiology: BIOL 2251, 2251L, 2252, and 2252L; Medical Microbiology: BIOL 2260 and 2260L). Lift 25 lbs.
- To teach intermediate and advanced Biology courses depending upon specific qualifications. Lift 25 lbs.
For Job Responsibilities 1&2:
- Minimum of 18 graduate level course credits in biology or biological science-related discipline.
- Candidates must provide information/references that support teaching effectiveness.
For Job Responsibility 3:
- An earned doctorate in Biology or biological science-related discipline.
For Job Responsibilities 1&2:
- Master's Degree in Biology or biological science-related discipline.
- Applications and credentials (e.g., M.S. in a biological science or M.D.) should correlate with the specific areas of application.
For Job Responsibility 3:
- Ph.D. in Biology or biological science-related discipline.
