Job Summary
The Biology Program is seeking part‑time, adjunct faculty to teach introductory core biology courses for non‑biology majors, service courses (human anatomy & physiology) for nursing and related allied health and health professional fields, and/or advanced biology courses (microbiology, cellular & molecular biology) depending upon specific qualifications. Part‑time faculty are critical to the mission of the Biology Program and are hired as needed, typically each semester.
ResponsibilitiesTo teach introductory biology core curriculum lecture and/or laboratory courses (BIOL 1010, 1010L, 1107, 1107L, 1108, 1108L). To teach biology‑based lecture and/or laboratory service courses for nursing and related allied health and health professional fields (Human Anatomy & Physiology: BIOL 2251, 2251L, 2252, 2252L; Medical Microbiology: BIOL 2260, 2260L). To teach intermediate and advanced biology courses, depending upon specific qualifications.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 18 graduate‑level course credits in biology or a related biological science discipline.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
For advanced‑course teaching: earned doctorate in biology or a related biological science discipline.
Preferred Qualifications- Master’s degree in biology or a related biological science discipline.
- Relevant applications and credentials (e.g., M.S. in biological science or M.D.) that align with the specific teaching areas.
- Ph.D. in biology or a related biological science discipline.
