Part-Time Instructor (Nursing) –

Location:

Valdosta State University. Regular status;
Part-Time appointment.

Job

• Teach courses in the instructor s area of expertise (nursing).
• Prepare lectures and instructional materials; lead class discussions; provide prompt responses to student questions.
• Give timely feedback on tests, quizzes, and assignments; follow Valdosta State University (VSU) policies and procedures related to teaching.
• Engage with students and staff; work on-campus or electronically as assigned; screen candidates for the role begins immediately.

• Master s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited university.
• Registered Nurse license in Georgia.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.

• Two years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Teaching experience at the college level, both face-to-face and online.
• Ability to serve as a clinical instructor/preceptor in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting.
• Record of mentoring students.

Commensurate with experience.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Position may require a credit check if using a P-Card or handling cash. Completion of VSU s Annual Compliance Training is required (examples include State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Information Security, Workers  Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, and related topics). Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Workers  Compensation.
