Lead in the realm of continuity patient care in hospitals outpatient clinic Candidate must enthusiastically participate in the education of residents through precepting, didactic lectures & collaboration with core faculty on program projects, supporting program development and innovation & creating & delivering curriculum.
Faculty position offers great preparation for candidates whose professional goals include teaching family medicine or gaining valuable GME experience needed to pursue a leadership role in a primary care organization
ROLE Schedule-Mon-Fri; 8a 5p; on average 2 clinic days, 1 precepting day & dedicated administration time for GME education per week
NO overnight call required unless desire to participate in optional OB or inpatient adult medicine coverage
Patient Volume- an average of 10-12 patients per half day in clinic
Procedures- LARC insertion and removal, Pap smears, Joint injections (with and without ultrasound), Skin procedures, Incision & drainage (I&D), Toenail removals & Sterile vaginal exam/cervical checks
Position requires teaching & supervising residents providing low risk prenatal care and post-partum care. Position offers opportunity for teaching & supervision of residents in the delivery of in-patient care & low risk obstetrics
Educational Department located on the hospitals state-of-the-art, 40,000 sq. ft. Medical Education Center. Clinic consists of 23 exam rooms, 2 procedure rooms, 2 precepting rooms & a lab Technology- MSK Ultrasound, handheld ultrasounds, Ellman radio-frequency device, Blu-U light, Dermatoscopes, and NSTHospital Facilities- physicians lounge with meals provided; 24-hour all-access employee fitness center; simulation labs, a skills lab, a computer lab, & a conference center
