The University of West Georgia invites applicants for courses in costume/makeup design for the Fall 2024 semester:
Stage Makeup, Rendering Styles, and Period Styles in Design. The courses will be taught on our Carrollton campus (Tuesday / Thursday schedule). The fall semester begins August 14 and ends December 13.
Qualified candidates will have experience in makeup and costume design for a range of theatrical productions, and they will demonstrate the ability to successfully teach undergraduate Theatre courses. We are particularly interested in candidates who are able to teach all three of the courses listed above this fall, and to design and/or mentor students (for additional compensation) costumes/makeup for two fall productions:
The Thirty-Nine Steps and Ken Ludwig’s Twas the Night before Christmas. The University of West Georgia is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre and offers a BFA in Theatre with concentrations in Acting and Design/Technology as well as certificates in Musical Theatre and Arts Management. Qualifications
Required Qualifications- Master of Arts in Costume Design or Costume Technology
- Previous teaching experience
- Proficiency in sewing, pattern making, and draping
- Previous Costume Design and/or Technology experience in theatre and film
- Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design
- Familiarity with costume design software
- College level teaching experience
