Position SummaryNight shift RN position, 7 pm to 7 am with differential. You will lead the Family Birth Center RN team in a 7+ bed LDRP unit caring for mothers and infants, including low‑risk deliveries, preterm births, preeclampsia and high‑risk obstetric conditions.
What you will do- Maintain daily operational aspects of the unit; manage nurse/patient ratios and resources to meet quality and financial objectives.
- Provide staff supervision, promote professional growth, and serve the unit expert for physicians and staff.
- Act as a role model for nursing professionalism and efficient patient flow.
- Conduct expert patient assessment across biophysical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, environmental, self‑care and discharge needs; plan interventions in line with the Relationship‑Based Care delivery model.
- Lead interview, coaching, precepting, evaluation, and discipline processes; recognize and reward staff appropriately.
- Participate in quality improvement programs using LEAN methodology and Peaks of Excellence.
- Manage patient, physician, and staff expectations through proactive communication and education.
- Act as unit liaison for budgeting, staffing and team meetings.
- Model Just Culture principles and organizational values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned; maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Three years of clinical experience.
- State of Colorado Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (LS) certifications.
- Working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Computer skills to complete online learning, benefits enrollment, and policy access.
- Associate’s Nursing degree minimum (for hires after 7/1/2018).
