Join the Meter Services team at Eagle River Water & Sanitation District as a Seasonal Utility Services Coordinator to help keep our metering and AMI program running smoothly and accurately.

This seasonal role is designed to support and back up the full-time coordinators by handling routine coordination, customer communication, and recordkeeping tasks while learning our systems and procedures. You’ll help keep work moving, keep customers informed, and keep data clean to supporting accurate billing, reliable service, and a great customer experience.

The Day-to-Day:
  • Customer-focused communication: Explains processes clearly and professionally; helps customers schedule meter-related appointments, understand next steps, and know what to expect; escalates complex questions as needed and coordinates and directs emergency calls to the appropriate personnel.
  • Coordination and follow-through: Supports meter service coordination by tracking requests, scheduling appointments, confirming access, and ensuring work orders move forward; helps coordinate between customer service and field crews.
  • Attention to detail: Maintains accurate meter and AMI-related records across systems (e.g., CIS/asset platforms) by validating data, documenting updates, and ensuring record completeness under guidance.
  • Systems learning and adaptability: Learns CIS/CMMS/asset platforms and follows established procedures; supports Advanced Metering Infrastructure exception follow-up (e.g., missed reads, alarms, communication issues) and updates records as directed.
  • Team collaboration: Works closely with the full-time coordinators and technical staff; shares status updates, asks questions early, and knows when to elevate or hand off non-routine issues.
  • Reporting and analysis support: Compiles operational data and assists with basic reports on meter reads, AMI communication status, and workflow progress; supports simple dashboard updates and trend tracking for visibility.
  • Templates, SOPs, and continuous improvement: Uses and helps maintain job aids, templates, and procedural documentation to improve consistency and reduce rework; supports outreach efforts, mailings, and compliance notifications as directed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in customer service, scheduling/coordination, administrative support, or a role involving accurate recordkeeping. Utility or local government experience is a plus.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and data entry across multiple systems.
  • Familiarity with utility metering, AMI concepts, work orders, or service scheduling is a plus.
The Schedule

This position will work up to a maximum of 1,000 hours or six months. We prefer a candidate who is available to work 30 or more hours a week for a six-month time period from May through October but will consider alternative schedules. This will be a hybrid role with the expectation to work onsite 2-3 days per week.

Pay Range and Benefits
