Construction Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager

We are seeking a construction bookkeeper / accounting manager to support a well‑established construction organization based in the Vail Valley. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with strong construction accounting experience who enjoys managing job costing, financial reporting, and day‑to‑day accounting operations in a project‑driven environment.

This organization has built a strong reputation delivering high‑end residential remodels and commercial construction projects. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project performance, and providing leadership with meaningful financial insights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity within Quick Books.
  • Oversee construction job costing, expense allocations, draw preparation, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Maintain subcontractor and vendor compliance documentation including insurance certificates, W‑9s, and 1099 reporting.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, bank and credit card reconciliations, and project budget reporting.
  • Support tax and compliance requirements including sales and use tax filings and coordination with external CPA.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within construction or real estate environments.
  • Strong proficiency with Quick Books, Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP), and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
