Senior QA Engineer

Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced  Senior QA Engineer  to join our team at Atyantik Technologies, Vadodara (Onsite role). This position is ideal for someone who brings strong QA expertise and is ready to step into greater responsibilities, with a clear growth path toward becoming a  QA Lead / Head of QA .

With 5–7 years of experience in software quality assurance (including at least 1 year in automation testing), you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality web and mobile applications. Playwright experience is considered a  very nice to have . Beyond testing, you will contribute to operating QA as a  self-sufficient department , managing resources, allocating QA members per project, and treating every project with the quality standards of an external client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Execution – Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and automation scripts ensuring coverage of functionality, usability, performance, and scalability.
Automation Testing – Build, maintain, and expand automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, Cypress) for regression and functional testing.
Defect Management – Identify, log, and track software defects to closure using industry-standard bug tracking tools.
Collaboration – Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and align on quality standards.
API & Backend Testing – Perform API testing using tools like Postman/SoapUI and validate backend systems with SQL queries.
Process Improvement – Contribute to enhancing QA methodologies, documentation, and reporting standards.
Knowledge Sharing – Mentor junior QA team members and promote QA best practices.
Leadership & Resource Management – Operate QA as an independent department within Atyantik. Manage resource allocation across projects, assign QA team members per requirement, and establish QA standards company-wide.
Client-First Mindset – Treat every internal project as an external client project, ensuring the highest quality and accountability.

Qualifications And Experiences

Education – Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Experience – 5–7 years in QA, including at least 1 year in automation testing. Playwright experience is highly valued as a nice-to-have.

Technical Skills

Strong expertise in manual and automation testing for web and/or mobile applications.
Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or Cypress.
Playwright experience – very nice to have, strongly preferred if included in automation background.
Proficiency with test management & defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Test Rail, Bugzilla).
Strong knowledge of API testing (Postman, SoapUI) and SQL for data validation.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git Lab, or Azure Dev Ops.
Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.

Must Haves

5–7 years of QA experience with at least 1 year in automation testing.
Strong background in manual, automation, and API testing.
Proficiency with automation frameworks (Selenium, TestNG, Cypress).
Hands-on experience with Jira/Test Rail or similar tools.
Excellent communication and leadership skills (non-negotiable).
Ability to manage QA processes independently and collaborate with leadership.

Good to Have

Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or Automation Testing Certification.

Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Load Runner).
Exposure to cloud-based testing environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Familiarity with security testing practices.
Playwright automation experience.
