Job Description

At North Bay Health the Surgical Technologist II is responsible for the delivery of patient care to assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional nurse. The technologist works as a team member with the primary function as the “scrub person” in the surgical suite and other clinical areas. The role also includes providing specialized resources to the nursing department and Patient Care Services Division through service‑lead responsibilities such as education, case consultation, and ongoing program services.

Additional functions may be assigned as permitted by hospital policy.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program required.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Current certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association.

Experience:

  • Minimum one‑year acute‑care operating room experience as a Surgical Technologist required.
  • Trauma II experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique, safe use and care of surgical instruments and equipment, and various inpatient surgical procedures.
  • Basic Windows computer skills required.

  • Good communication skills; works effectively as a team member.

Hours Of Work
  • Variable based on department needs.
Compensation
  • Hourly salary range:
    Min $48.77 –ដោយ Max $59.31 (offered rate based on years of experience).
