About us

This is an exciting time to join Hillingdon Best Start Family Hubs and Children’s Centres. We are expanding our Parenting and Home Learning Environment (HLE) offer to ensure parents are supported as their children’s first and most influential educators, helping every child to have the best possible start in life.

Our ambition is to improve early learning outcomes across the borough and to support more children to achieve a Good Level of Development (GLD) by the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage. By joining us, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based parenting support that makes a real difference for children and families.

The role

As Parenting Programmes Coordinator (Early Years), you will work directly with parents and carers to deliver and coordinate a borough‑wide programme of parenting support. You will provide practical guidance, resources and interventions that strengthen parenting confidence, promote positive home learning environments and support children’s early development.

You will deliver evidence‑based parenting programmes, contribute to the development of a cohesive parenting offer across Hillingdon, and work closely with colleagues and partners to ensure services are inclusive, accessible and responsive to local need.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based parenting programmes and targeted interventions for families with young children
  • Coordinate and support a consistent, borough‑wide parenting offer across education and community settings
  • Engage parents as partners, valuing their strengths and lived experience and supporting co‑production of services
  • Actively reach families who are less likely to access services, including those with SEND, EAL and from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Work collaboratively with early years settings, schools, health services, voluntary and community partners to promote joined‑up support
  • Promote parenting and Home Learning Environment services through outreach, local networks and digital channels to maximise participation
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of programmes, using feedback and validated tools to demonstrate impact and inform improvement
  • Contribute to safeguarding, quality assurance and continuous improvement across the service
About you

You will be an experienced and motivated practitioner with a strong commitment to supporting children and families in the early years. You will have experience of delivering or coordinating parenting or early years programmes and be confident working with families from a wide range of backgrounds.

You will bring:

  • Experience working with families in early help, child development, and parenting
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage parents and professionals
  • Strong organisational skills and initiative
  • The ability to train, coach and influence practitioners across multi‑agency settings
  • Commitment to inclusion, equality, and safeguarding

You will hold a relevant qualification at Level 3 or above in working with children and/or young people, along with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English. Training or experience in parenting programmes is desirable, or a willingness to undertake accredited training.

Our commitment

Hillingdon’s Family Hubs and Children’s Centres serve a diverse community. We are committed to equality, inclusion and creating a workforce that reflects the families we support. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.
