SEN Class Teachers (NQTs with SEN Experience Welcome)

Location: Outer London

Contract: Permanent

About

the Role

As an SEN Class Teacher, you will take full ownership of a class group with diverse and complex needs, working alongside a skilled team of support staff and therapists to deliver tailored, person‑centred education.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and delivering creative, meaningful lessons tailored to individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Leading a class team and embedding therapeutic, communication, and regulation strategies throughout the day.
  • Using a range of AAC systems including PECS, Sign‑Along, and high‑tech devices to support communication and understanding.
  • Collaborating with families and professionals to ensure consistency, progress, and a holistic approach.
  • Contributing to annual reviews and EHCP documentation with insight and clarity.
Requirements What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – NQTs with SEN experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with pupils with complex learning needs, communication difficulties, and sensory processing challenges.
  • Strong understanding of AAC and positive behaviour support (PBS).
  • Confident leadership within the classroom and the ability to guide and inspire support staff.
  • Excellent communication skills with families and external professionals.
