EYFS Teaching Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Hayes. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting young children’s early learning and development within a nurturing EYFS environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team, including providing 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and global developmental delay.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children within the EYFS classroom, working with individuals and small groups
* Provide 1:1 targeted support for a pupil with ASD and global delay
* Use visual supports, PECS, and Makaton to aid communication and learning
* Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, observations, and classroom organisation
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and communication development
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage engagement in learning activities
* Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive EYFS learning environment
* Support pupils during playtimes, lunchtime, and school activities as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning / EYFS (essential)
* Experience working within EYFS (desirable)
* Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD and global delay
* Confidence using visuals, PECS, and Makaton
* A caring, patient, and proactive approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
* A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
