RoleWe are looking for a Senior Scientist in CMC Develop ability to join our Drug Product Development organization within CMC – Product Development. This role is ideal for a scientifically strong leader who enjoys bridging discovery insights with robust CMC decision-making.
In this position, you will be responsible for driving develop ability activities to support early and late-stage projects, with a strong focus on risk assessment and data-based decision making. You will lead and develop a small team of research analysts while working closely with Discovery and other CMC functions.
ResponsibilitiesAct as the CMC Develop ability representative in cross-functional project teams, including regular interaction with Discovery teams
Lead develop ability strategy and execution to support project progression and de-risking
Plan, prioritize, and oversee laboratory activities, ensuring high scientific quality and timely delivery
Manage and mentor a team of 3–4 research analysts, fostering scientific growth and accountability
Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data to project teams and stakeholders
Integrate historical and platform data to support informed, data-driven decisions across the portfolio
Contribute to the continuous improvement of develop ability workflows, methods, and data usage
PhD (or equivalent experience) in biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience in industry.
Strong background in biochemical, biophysical, and analytical methods relevant to develop ability assessment
Demonstrated expertise in chromatographic, spectroscopic and capillary techniques (e.g., SEC, IEX, HIC, CE-SDS, icIEF, A280 etc)
Solid experience with stability and develop ability analyses, including thermal stability (Tm), aggregation propensity (Tagg), and stress studies
Working knowledge of mass spectrometry data and its relevance for molecule characterization.
Expertise in data analysis using statistical software (JMP)
Proven ability to work with complex datasets and translate results into actionable, risk-based recommendations.
Integrate and curate develop ability data across projects, building and maintaining a structured data bank of historical and current results
Identify correlations, trends, and critical parameters across datasets to enable comparative assessments between new and legacy projects
Experience leading or mentoring scientists in a laboratory environment
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present and defend data-driven conclusions in multidisciplinary settings
