These are exciting times for RWE given the development and construction of the offshore wind farm Oranje Wind and the offshore wind tenders planned in the Benelux in the coming years.
As in other European countries, RWE strongly believes in the power of the presence of a local team as a basic ingredient for successful participation in offshore wind projects. This approach is combined with support from various international support departments in which all the necessary expertise is present.
The position
The Junior Consent Manager will have a key role within the development organisation of the Oranje Wind project. Your role will be to support our permit pledges and requirements towards the implementation phase and support our specialist teams in understanding and implementing our permit and regulatory obligations to ensure that the project remains compliant. You will provide advice to tender projects as it relates to the permit application and compliance with applicable regulations.
You have a good technical understanding of energy issues, permit procedures, and the legal framework. You will work closely with various experts, including lawyers, HSE, engineers, ecologists, consultants, authorities, and external partners.
Working mainly from Utrecht, the Junior Consent Manager is part of a diverse and motivated team and collaborates with many international colleagues. The position requires attending external meetings and willingness to travel occasionally (internationally).
Your future plans
- In cooperation with the Consenting Team: setting up and implementing an optimal permitting strategy for RWE's existing wind projects in the Netherlands.
- Liaison and coordination towards the internal and external project components, partners, consultants, and contractors.
- Liaison and coordination towards government and other stakeholders (e.g. offshore regulators, grid operators, legal advisors, and relevant sea users).
- Support understanding and implementation of licensing and regulatory obligations and ensure projects remain compliant.
- Proactively share lessons-learned and best-practices between projects in the wider portfolio.
- Ensure a safety-conscious and sustainable environment of the projects.
Your profile
- Degree in a relevant field such as spatial planning, sustainable energy, engineering, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in permit management or similar work areas.
- Knowledge of offshore environmental, spatial planning, and mining legislation is beneficial.
- Knowledge of reporting methods, project planning, organisation, and project management.
- Well-organised and able to support multiple work streams within a large project.
- Good people management skills, including motivational and collaborative skills.
- Positive attitude, taking responsibility for issues, actively identifying threats and opportunities.
- Efficient and able to deal with changing deadlines.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills (Dutch and English).
