What You Will Be Doing
The Law Office Assistant 1 position is responsible for providing administrative support to prosecutors within the Utqiagvik District Attorney’s Office. You will perform a wide variety of tasks including typing and formatting legal documents, data entry, organizing documents in electronic files, and communicating with outside agencies and individuals verbally and in writing to accomplish tasks.

- 37.5 hour work week; 12 paid holidays; personal leave accrual starting at 6 hours per pay period (about 21 days annually) with increases with years of service. General office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with flexibility in establishing regular hours around core business hours.
- The Utqiagvik Attorney's Office is located at 1250 Agvik St., Utqiagvik, AK 99723. The office environment is friendly and fast-paced.

PI01A1 – Law Office Assistant 1
One year of experience involving significant customer service, information exchange to secure services or goods, and/or standard administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence or reports, filing, data entry, and maintaining logs. Includes regular, proficient use of electronic management information systems and word processing.
Substitutions:
- Any combination of post-secondary education or applicable experience may substitute for the required experience.
- An associate’s degree or specific vocational-technical certification in a legal support field may substitute for the required experience.
- Other substitute education or certification options may apply as described.
Special Note (All Levels): Most positions require the ability to obtain a Notary Public upon hire and to pass a criminal background check to meet security requirements for using criminal record networks. If this requirement is present, it will be stated in the vacancy announcement.
Some positions may require overtime during the standard workweek, weekends, and/or holidays to support the assigned duty attorney. If so, it will be stated in the vacancy announcement.
