Job Summary:

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse delivers rapid, high-quality nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a high-acuity emergency setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to respond effectively to emergent and life-threatening conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and continuous patient monitoring.

• Initiate and manage emergency interventions and support trauma and resuscitation efforts.

• Utilize specialty emergency equipment during critical events.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to stabilize and treat patients.

• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.

• Float to other areas as required to support departmental operations.

• May function in a charge nurse role as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience – Required

• Pediatric ED experience – Required

• Documented travel nursing experience – Required

• TNCC certification must be in hand – Required

• Charge nurse capability – Highly Preferred

• EPIC EMR experience – Required

• Experience managing patients with stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure

• Experience using specialty equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun

• Floating required

• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

• Local candidates accepted (local rate applies for candidates within 75 miles)

Education:

Graduation from an accredited nursing program – Required

Certifications

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)

• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

License:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state – Required
