General Summary & ScopeThe Beauty Advisor (BA) provides an exceptional experience for all Ulta Beauty guests by engaging each guest to determine their individual needs, conducting cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining overall store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The BA supports the leadership team through a focus on performance, people, and process.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities Performance
- Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni‑channel sales, and retail shrink.
- Provide exceptional service by greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service, answering product questions, informing guests about promotions, and recommending complementary Ulta Beauty products or services.
- Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously and assist with online orders.
- Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
- Book appointments for in‑store services and support in‑store events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
- Stay informed about new and existing products and services during work time and maintain product and ingredient knowledge.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
- Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates, peers, and guests.
- Share the benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
- Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
- Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, to enable continuous professional development.
- Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
- Drive sales by keeping assigned work areas replenished, signed, and faced; ensure testers are available.
- Maintain outstanding store standards including salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, and break area.
- Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory procedures, and shipment processing/unloading.
- Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
- Execute other operational tasks as directed.
- High school diploma preferred.
- 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
- Demonstrates a passion for guest service and competency for selling.
- Proficient with basic technology (e.g., POS system and Apple devices).
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Ability to troubleshoot.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Position Requirements
- Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift.
- Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
- Continuous or frequent lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 25 lbs during shift.
- Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
