Manufacturing Engineer
A day in this role
Morning starts with the build prints. You review customer requirements, calculate any missing dimensions, and lay out the design across a mix of materials. Using straightedges and precision metrology, you establish reference points and tooling holes, then guide a small team as they fit and assemble components destined for aerospace programs. Midday could find you sketching concepts for the fabrication group, or stepping in to run a lathe, a Bridgeport, or a grinder to keep the build on track.
When tools need attention, you troubleshoot and perform repairs or rework—always with an eye on quality, schedule, and safety.
