SAPA Transmission, a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) contractor, is seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive MRO Buyer to manage the procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) goods and services. This role is critical in supporting operational efficiency, minimizing downtime, and ensuring cost‑effective sourcing aligned with company standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial purchasing, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with ERP systems.
Responsibilities- Source, negotiate, and purchase MRO materials and services including tools, equipment, spare parts, safety supplies, and facility maintenance needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to identify and fulfill procurement needs.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to avoid production delays.
- Process purchase orders within Microsoft Dynamics, ensuring accuracy and alignment with budget and approval processes.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and distributors.
- Track supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.
- Manage inventory levels for MRO items and coordinate with stores or inventory management teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits, internal reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks or potential delays, and take corrective actions to keep development and production on track.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- 1‑2 years of purchasing or buying experience, preferably in an MRO, manufacturing, or facilities environment.
- Experience using an ERP system;
Microsoft Dynamics experience strongly preferred. - Strong understanding of MRO materials, spare parts, and maintenance‑driven purchasing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
