About the RoleAs a Family Advocate, you'll provide comprehensive case management services to families in assigned classrooms. You'll create, coordinate, and deliver services that promote family well-being while ensuring full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Child Care Licensing Policies, and Health Department regulations.
You'll be a connector, coach, and champion for families, guiding them through resources, health requirements, and community services while fostering meaningful engagement.
What You’ll Do- Provide compassionate, strengths-based case management to families from diverse backgrounds
- Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and follow-ups (including proficiency in Child Plus)
- Monitor and educate families on health requirements-ensuring children are up to date on medical, dental, nutrition, and mental health screenings and connected to a medical and dental home
- Offer timely referrals and ensure families successfully access community resources
- Partner with teachers to share relevant information confidentially and ensure classroom coverage and safety
- Lead engaging parent meetings, workshops, and family activities that strengthen relationships and promote well-being
- Conduct application intakes and assist with recruitment efforts (some evenings/weekends required)
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Sensitive to the needs of families from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Highly organized and deadline-driven
- Strong communicator (written and verbal English required)
- Collaborative team player with excellent follow-through
- Passionate about empowering families
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in social, human, or family services
- Two years of related experience
- Experience with Head Start
- Bilingual in languages spoken by families served by UCA
- $25.94/hour
