Everett Lynn Enterprise is a locally owned excavation and trucking company based in Summit and Wasatch Counties. We are looking for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to commit to and grow with our team. This role is central to keeping our fleet and equipment reliable, safe, and ready for the demands of excavation and hauling.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment used in excavation and hauling.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and DOT-compliant service checks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair needs to management.
  • Source parts and coordinate with vendors when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA/MSHA safety requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • 10+ years of heavy diesel mechanic experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with excavation equipment and trucking fleets highly valued.
  • CDL A/B license not required but a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills required.

Work Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check.
  • Compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with management, team members, and vendors.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and fleet maintenance.
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment, service manuals, and schematics.
  • Effective problem-solving and independent work skills.
  • Computer/tech literacy for service logs and parts ordering.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
  • Capable of working indoors and outdoors in varying weather.
  • Extended periods of standing and tool use required.
Additional Information

Work Environment:

  • Shop and Outdoor-based work on trucks and excavation equipment.
  • Exposure to fumes, noise, moving parts, and weather conditions.
  • PPE and safety protocols required.

Job Type:Full-time

Wage:

Depending on Experience

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime as needed
  • Weekend availability if required
