Assistant Manager I – Family Dollar
We are looking for an Assistant Manager I to help with store operations, customer service, and team development in Loa, UT.
Responsibilities- Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day activities.
- Help customers with a positive, approachable attitude and address any questions or concerns.
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other store communications.
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
- Keep the sales floor well stocked and the stockroom organized to company standards.
- Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
- Enforce safety guidelines and company policies; ensure all associates comply.
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
- Create a positive, safe, and respectful environment while interacting professionally with customers, associates, and leaders.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; required ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
