Purpose and Distinguishing CharacteristicsThe Quality Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of quality across the supply chain and internal manufacturing operations. This role oversees supplier quality, incoming inspection, in‑process quality, quality systems compliance, and customer‑facing quality activities. The incumbent ensures that materials, processes, and finished products consistently meet company specifications and customer expectations. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, strengthening root‑cause disciplines, and fostering a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization.

- Lead, mentor, and develop quality teams across supplier quality, incoming inspection, and manufacturing process quality.
- Build an engaged, high‑performance organization that demonstrates strong communication, accountability, and technical competency.
- Represent the Quality function in daily operations reviews, production meetings, and cross‑functional leadership forums.
- Oversee supplier quality programs, including incoming inspection of raw materials and finished goods.
- Manage supplier nonconformances and ensure timely containment, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action verification.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for supplier‑related quality issues.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering to qualify new suppliers and evaluate material or process changes.
- Drive supplier performance improvement using data‑driven metrics and regular performance reviews.
- Own and maintain quality control plans across molding, extrusion, assembly, packaging, and related manufacturing processes.
- Lead the resolution of internal quality issues using structured problem‑solving methodologies (A3, 8D, DMAIC).
- Monitor and improve process capability (e.g., Cp, Cpk) to support consistent and stable production.
- Oversee nonconforming product processes including containment, disposition, and rework planning.
- Provide real‑time floor support and quality expertise to sustain daily operational performance.
- Oversee the site Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring adherence to ISO 9001 and applicable customer or regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits conducted by customers, regulatory agencies, or certification bodies.
- Maintain accurate and controlled documentation including procedures, work instructions, and forms.
- Promote the disciplined use of statistical methods and sampling plans (including ANSI Z1.4) to ensure sound quality decisions.
- Lead investigations and corrective actions for customer complaints tied to supplier or manufacturing processes.
- Provide professional, timely communication to customers regarding product quality, corrective action progress, and systemic improvements.
- Support customer audits, product reviews, and ongoing quality collaboration efforts.
- Develop and deliver training on inspection techniques, defect identification, PFMEA, SPC, and other essential quality tools.
- Ensure operators, technicians, and inspectors maintain competency and certification on quality‑critical tasks.
- Champion a culture of prevention, data‑driven decision‑making, and continuous improvement throughout all operational areas.
- Establish, maintain, and report Key Quality Indicators (KPIs), including FPY, scrap, rework, COPQ, returns, and supplier performance.
- Prepare and present quality performance updates to senior leadership.
- Analyze quality trends to identify risks, systemic gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in NPI activities, including design reviews, risk assessments, PFMEA development, and control plan creation.
