Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead a premier resort in Moab, Utah — a world-renowned adventure destination near Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park.
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall operational leadership, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and team culture of the property. The ideal candidate brings strong resort experience, a passion for experiential hospitality, and the ability to lead in a high-season, destination-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Operations
- Oversee all aspects of resort operations including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, and Finance
- Drive a service culture that reflects the adventurous and upscale spirit of the Moab market
- Ensure consistent guest satisfaction and brand standards
- Lead daily operations meetings and strategic planning initiatives
Financial Performance
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets
- Monitor P&L performance, labor management, RevPAR, ADR, and GOP
- Optimize seasonal revenue strategies aligned with tourism demand
- Identify cost-control opportunities while maintaining service excellence
Sales, Marketing & Community Engagement
- Partner with Sales & Marketing to drive leisure, group, and experiential travel business
- Maintain strong relationships with local tour operators, outdoor outfitters, and community leaders
- Represent the resort within the Moab business community
Team Leadership & Culture
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-focused workplace
- Promote employee engagement and professional growth
- Lead by example in guest interactions and operational visibility
Guest Experience & Reputation Management
- Monitor guest feedback and online reputation channels
- Ensure proactive service recovery and continuous improvement
- Support experiential programming aligned with the Moab lifestyle
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of progressive hotel or resort leadership experience
- Prior experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager in a resort or destination property
- Strong financial acumen and full P&L responsibility experience
- Experience managing seasonal or high-leisure demand markets
- Proven leadership and team development skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred
Preferred Experience
- Independent or lifestyle resort background
- Experience in outdoor, adventure, or experiential destinations
- Multi-department oversight in full-service properties
- Pre-opening or renovation experience
