SPR Steel Erectors is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial, industrial, and government steel erection projects from pre‑construction through closeout. This role serves as the operational bridge between field crews and executive leadership—ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with AISC‑aligned quality standards.
The ideal candidate has grown up in the field, earned the respect of ironworkers and foremen, and transitioned into operational leadership with strong financial and documentation discipline. Responsibilities- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for structural steel erection projects.
- Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, fabricators, inspectors, and internal field teams.
- Assign crews, equipment, and materials to meet project timelines.
- Monitor job cost reports, forecast budgets, and manage change orders.
- Identify cost overruns and implement corrective actions.
- Review contracts, scopes of work, and specifications to ensure compliance.
- Conduct site visits and attend coordination meetings to assess progress and resolve issues.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and reinforce company safety standards.
- Support site foremen in implementing safety protocols and training.
- Develop and manage project‑specific quality plans within Contractor Foreman.
- Coordinate inspections and manage non‑conformance reports (NCRs).
- Document inspections, daily reports, and upload photos in Contractor Foreman.
- Serve as primary liaison between field operations and executive leadership.
- Oversee project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation submission.
- 5–10+ years of experience in steel erection or structural construction.
- Prior experience as a foreman or crew lead strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial or industrial projects valued at $1M+.
- Strong understanding of structural steel systems, erection methods, rigging, and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Proven financial acumen — able to read job cost reports and manage project budgets.
- Experience with Contractor Foreman, Procore, MS Project, or similar software.
- Familiarity with AISC standards, WPS, bolt specifications, inspections, and QMS documentation.
- Strong documentation discipline and attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- High School diploma or GED required.
