Automotive Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our outstanding fleet maintenance team. The role involves maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy‑duty on‑road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. Proving propulsion systems include diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric in some locations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Meet D.O.T. requirements required by the job assignment.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and turning/pivoting throughout the workday.
- Operate standard and manual transmissions as well as power and pneumatic tools.
- Use hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls for troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Work 2nd or 3rd shift schedules (Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday) depending on the location’s need.
Requirements:
- Must possess an active driver’s license issued by the state.
- Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift schedules as described above.

Knowledge and
Skills:
- Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computer.
- Possesses full complement of personal hand tools.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a State Certified Inspection License within 90 days of employment.
- Preferred:
Class A/B or A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). - Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday consistently.
- Available to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs.
- Wears personal protective equipment as required.
- Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity; exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, хотя dust, dirt, and noise; outside inclement weather, etc.

Compensation:
The starting pay for this position is $39.02 per hour. For union‑represented postings, wage rates and benefits are governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
