Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining terminal mechanical equipment. Ensuring equipment is in good working order is crucial to the facility operations. Equipment includes but is not limited to pumps, motors, valves, tanks, loading arms, air compressors. The safe transfer of crude oil and petroleum products to and from shore tankage, tanker truck and railcar in compliance with federal, state and company regulations, procedures, guidelines, and policies.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Safe and efficient operations of all PRT assets protecting employees, the public, the environment, company assets and customers’ assets.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure conformance with all company policies, procedures, and principles of operational safety.
  • Coordinate with supervision and office personnel on equipment repairs and shutdowns.
  • Maintain cleanliness of terminal equipment and work area.
  • Perform troubleshooting of tanker truck offloading, product transfer and rail loading equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance on field and facility equipment.
  • Perform problem diagnosis, repair, replacement, calibration, inspection and testing of various types of equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of all associated equipment.
  • Accurately document repair information and submit data into tracking systems.
  • Inspect and maintain facility equipment; including Lacts, tanks, piping manifolds, pumps, loading arms, rail rack equipment and report any abnormalities or safety concerns to shift supervisor.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and/or monthly inspections/reports.
  • Communicate with terminal operations, office staff, and third-party contractors regarding daily work assignments.
  • Correspond with third-party party contractors and vendors performing construction, maintenance, and/or operations services.
  • Must be detailed oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ensure facility buildings, equipment, and surrounding areas are in safe and clean working conditions; remove and dispose of trash, perform grounds maintenance, and perform repairs as directed.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety / environmental / regulatory concerns per company policy and procedure.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by your Supervisor or Manager.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be proficient in basic mathematical calculations and have good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Requires prolonged walking, sitting, bending, stooping and telephone/radio communications.
  • Must be able to work in severe weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Requires ability to respond to emergencies at all hours.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residence.
Working Conditions
  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently.
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions and some heavy lifting.
  • Employee will be expected to work five eight-hour days or a 12-hour rotating shift at management’s discretion.
  • The employee is expected to work overtime and will be subject to call out.
  • Ability to operate pneumatic impact wrench and manual hand tools.
  • Ability to walk and work on uneven surfaces.
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
