About the Role

The City is seeking an experienced City Attorney to oversee all legal matters and provide trusted legal counsel in support of City operations, governance, and policy‑making.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as chief legal advisor to the City Manager, Mayor, City Council, City officials, staff, and boards and commissions.
  • Attend City Council meetings and other board and commission meetings to provide legal advice.
  • Draft, review, and approve ordinances, resolutions, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.

  • Supervise and manage the City Attorney's Office, including attorneys and support staff.
  • Assist in policy development to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
Who You Are

You're a confident and trusted legal advisor who values public service and sound judgment. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and are comfortable navigating both legal detail and policy considerations. You're adaptable, collaborative, and capable of providing steady legal guidance in a growing municipal environment.

You’ll Be Successful If You
  • Enjoy working closely with elected officials and executive leadership.
  • Thrive in a small but growing city where legal matters are diverse and evolving.
  • Believe in clear communication, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Have experience in municipal or public‑sector law.
Ideal Qualifications

  • Collaborative leadership and a professional, respectful work environment.
  • Competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including Utah Retirement Systems (URS) participation.
  • A community‑focused organization where your expertise and judgment are valued.
