Location: Altamont
Duties
* Serve as a senior labor attorney and legal advisor to commanders, directors, other management officials, and the Civilian Personnel Office on all issues arising from the employment of civil service and non-appropriated fund employees.
* Provide subject matter expertise in all areas of labor and employment law.
* Serve as a senior labor litigation attorney representing the Department of the Air Force in third-party administrative and judicial proceedings concerning employment-related disputes involving the 75th Air Base Wing, the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, their subordinate organizations, all tenant units at Hill Air Force Base, and organizations at other installations.
* Under the direction of the Chief of the Civil Law Division, performs the duties of the Chief of Labor Law at Hill Air Force Base.
* Engages in settlement negotiations as appropriate with opposing parties. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position.
* This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection.
* Employee must adhere to the Air Force Rules of Professional Conduct.
* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
* Employee must maintain current certifications
* Attorney appointments are subject to serve a one-year probationary period.
* Candidates are not required to have active duty service or veterans' preference to be referred and considered. All qualified candidates who meet the recruitment assessment criteria will be referred to the selecting official.
* Employee may be required to travel for temporary duty away from home station.
* Employee is required to file an Office of Government Ethics (OGEO Form 450, Confidential Financial disclosure Report, upon appointment and annually thereafter.
* Employee is required to sign mobility agreement. Qualifications GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
* You MUST have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD).
* In addition, at the time of application, you must provide proof, dated within four months of application, of "active" status with a bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. On-line information is allowed as long as it shows that you are in "active" status.
* Qualifications Required at GS-14 or GS-15 Level. In addition to General Requirements, the attorney shall have professional legal experience in excess of three years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. KNOWLEDGE,

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, precedents, and procedures related to government-related litigation and federal employment labor issues, and civil law. 2. Ability to effectively interpret and apply law and recommend changes in legislation, policy, or regulations.
3. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
4. Ability to direct, coordinate, and review the concerted efforts of teams of specialists.
5. Ability to recognize and appropriately handle issues of precedent-setting nature, delicacy, or importance toagency goals, national and international importance, or high public interest.
