IT Cybersecurity Specialist; Sysadmin​/Infosec Security Clearance

Position: IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC) with Security Clearance
Location: Hill Air Force Base

* Applies senior-level expertise in operating systems, internet technologies, and IT interrelationships to evaluate new application impacts and recommend changes to ensure environment stability and functionality.
* Knowledge of network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth).
* Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses and of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
* Utilizes senior-level skill in information security, infrastructure protection, and IT interrelationships to review new systems, networks, and software for potential security risks. Requirements Help Conditions of employment

* In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
* This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TSP) under the civilian drug testing program.

Experience:

To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:
Leads a team in the design, implementation, and maintenance of Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Meeting Manager. This role also involves managing a wide range of network technologies from vendors like Juniper, Cisco, Palo-Alto, and F5. Key duties include configuring routers and switches, troubleshooting connectivity, monitoring network performance, and enforcing security policies. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.

All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Education There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-13 grade level. Additional information
* This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.

* This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
* A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
