Join Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI) as a Technical Communicator in a project-based role supporting the initial development phase of our autonomous vehicle platforms.

This project-based employee role supports development phases typically spanning up to approximately 24 months, though scope and duration are driven by business needs.

ASI is seeking an experienced technical communicator to guide users of all backgrounds through the operation of complex unmanned vehicle systems. This consists mostly of software documentation but may also include physical installation and repair instructions.

We write manuals for a range of robotic vehicles, from security bots to 400-ton trucks, ensuring clarity, usability, and compliance. The role is fast‑paced, cutting‑edge, and requires proactive, self‑driven, and detail‑oriented work. Continuous collaboration with engineers, testers, and support personnel is essential.

• Meet with the Product Manager to determine documentation needs for the project.
• Research how the product will be used.
• Takes digital pictures or screenshots and prepares illustrations for documentation.
• Interacts with engineers, testers, and support personnel to gather knowledge of complex systems.
• Makes complex or difficult procedures easy to understand and follow, creating relevant illustrations.
• Organizes information for easy user access.
• Assists with engineering documents, reports, and other internal documents including legal and certification documents for product sign-off.
• Improves documents through comprehensive editing for grammar and clarity.
• Reformats Word documents.
• Defines and improves processes to make all ASI documents accessible and accurate.
• Learns new software and adapts skills quickly, including ASI's products and development tools.
• Occasional, infrequent travel may be required.

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional writing experience.
• Excellent knowledge of English grammar and usage.
• Basic understanding of Docbook and XML.
• Quick learner of new applications and systems.
