SALARY

$98,000 to $125,100 per year depending on experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose

The Senior Biostatistician serves as a statistical resource supporting faculty and student research across the institution as a member of a collaborative research team. This role provides advanced statistical analysis, study design consultation, and methodological mentorship to help ensure that research projects are scientifically rigorous, feasible, and appropriately powered. The Senior Biostatistician partners with investigators and trainees from project conception through dissemination, strengthening institutional research quality, student scholarship, and faculty productivity.

Essential

Job Functions
  • Provide statistical consultation to faculty and students during project development, including hypothesis refinement, endpoint selection, and study feasibility assessment.
  • Guide investigators and trainees in selecting appropriate experimental designs for clinical, educational, laboratory, and population health research.
  • Perform power analyses, sample size calculations, and statistical justification for protocols, grant applications, and student scholarly projects.
  • Assist in development of statistical sections for IRB submissions, grant proposals, and research protocols.
  • Maintain a personal and professional development plan and portfolio, including documentation of teaching, professional development activities and plans, service provided to college and communities, scholarly activity and research to assure personal growth and continued competency with specialty field.
  • Demonstrate the highest standard of professionalism and ethical behavior in all aspects of personal and professional actions and performance.
  • Demonstrate and model an ongoing ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors and support staff.
  • Be actively engaged in original and collaborative research.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in the area of studied expertise.
  • Demonstrate ability to mentor and motivate students and peers.
  • Demonstrations of peer-reviewed works of scholarly activity.
  • Track record of collaborative research and scholarly activity.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) - three (3) years of experience in statistical methods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MD/DO/PHD from an accredited institution.
  • One (1) - three (3) years of academic experience as a full time faculty member at a medical school.
