Qualifications
School Counselor:
Master’s Degree in School Counseling and hold, or be eligible to hold, a Utah State Board of Education School Counselor license.
- Provides guidance & support for students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social needs, and individual planning.
- Teaches guidance curriculum and helps students gain a vision of the relationship between academic performance and career opportunities.
- Creates and delivers professional development sessions to teachers & parents.
- Co‑ordinates parent involvement activities.
- Conducts crisis intervention.
- Develops student intervention plans.
- Provides small‑group counseling to develop interaction, communication, & support skills.
- Sets up/attends conferences for support groups, test interpretations with parents, and new‑student orientation with parents.
Placed on the Licensed Teacher Salary Schedule.
HoursFull time, 193 days. To begin August 2026.
