Through intentional leadership training, comprehensive support of student clubs and organizations, meaningful campus programming, and strong collaboration across departments, the Assistant Director of Student Life directly supports Snow College’s commitment to a personalized, student-centered educational experience. This role strengthens student belonging, empowers students to “find themselves,” and helps prepare them to thrive in their future careers and lives.
Aligned with the mission of Student Life and Leadership, the Assistant Director develops influential student leaders, supports student clubs and organizations, and delivers exceptional student focused events and experiences that enhance the college experience and strengthen student retention.
Bachelor degree required Clubs & Organizations Oversight- Provide primary leadership and oversight for all recognized student clubs and organizations, including SCSA interest-based, independent, and departmental clubs
- Coordinate and implement club recruitment efforts, including Club Rush and related engagement initiatives
- Develop and deliver training for club officers and student leaders focused on leadership skills, event planning, budgeting, risk management, and policy compliance
- Advise student leaders on effective organizational management, inclusive practices, and sustainable leadership transitions
- Manage club and organization budgets, including allocation and oversight of student fee distributions
- Establish, maintain, and enforce policies, procedures, and guidelines related to student organizations
- Serve as the main liaison between Student Life and departmental clubs to ensure alignment, communication, and support
- Train, mentor, and advise Student Body Officers (SBOs) and club leaders, promoting actionable leadership, accountability, and personal growth
- Provide trainings and leadership development opportunities for SCSA team members
- Be a positive and professional example to the student leaders
- Foster a safe and engaging environment for student leaders to learn, explore and create
- Collaborate with Student Life staff and student leaders to plan, support, and assess student life events, activities, and initiatives
- Assist in creating meaningful experiences that promote engagement, belonging, and leadership development
- Train and mentor the SCSA team on planning and executing student events
- Oversee the volunteer program, promoting engagement and exploratory options for students to volunteer in the Student Life Office
- Work closely with Student Affairs, academic departments and campus partners to support student organizations and leadership initiatives
- Represent Student Life on committees and in collaborative campus efforts
- Track participation, leadership outcomes, budgets, and program effectiveness
- Contribute to reporting, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts related to student engagement and retention
- As the Assistant Director gains experience and demonstrates strengths within the role, additional responsibilities may be assigned to support the evolving needs of the Student Life office and the college
- Some nights and weekends required
