Position Announcement:
Garfield County School District is hiring a Full-Time Special Education Teacher beginning with the school year. This position is in Panguitch, Utah, working with students in kindergarten through 6th grade.
Salary:Step & Lane will be determined based on the Garfield County School District Salary Schedules, competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a benefited position, working 160 day contract/4 days a week; and includes retirement, health/life insurance & paid time off.
Key Responsibilities:- Responsible for the creation, implementation, and revision of Individualized Education Plans for students at Panguitch Elementary
- Collecting and analyzing data to track student progress, identifying areas of improvement, and making necessary adjustments to instructional approaches.
- Collaborating with parents, faculty, SpEd Director, and related service providers to develop and implement effective learning plans that address the unique needs of each student.
- Providing specialized instruction in the core subjects in a self-contained, pull-out setting, and/or supporting the teaching of Panguitch Elementary students in the regular education classroom
- Ensure that all individuals with exceptional needs are appropriately identified, assessed, and provided appropriate education programs and services to meet their unique needs.
The successful candidate must have or be capable of obtaining a Utah teaching license & needed endorsements within the time frame set by the board of education. Applicants must be fingerprinted and satisfactorily pass an employment background check.
