Special Education/Language Aide – Central Cove Preschool, Uintah School District

Position
:
Part‑time Preschool Speech Language Aide (up to 19.5 hrs per week; voucher position, no benefits). Must be 18 years of age or older.

Job Summary

Under the direction and supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, the Preschool Speech Language Aide plans and implements specially designed instruction for students with language delays and disorders. They support both general and special education learners, helping children access learning, play, communication, and develop confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Implement purposeful lesson plans, activities, interventions, and scaffolds for identified students.
  • Document student progress and collect/log data for reimbursement.
  • Share information with students, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide data to help develop IEP or therapy goals.
  • Participate in IEP meetings.
  • Assist with clerical duties and administer speech, language, and hearing screenings.
  • Observe children to improve social competencies and self‑esteem.
  • Support student interaction for social skill development and relationship building.
  • Collaborate with other educators regarding daily routines and student support.

Requirements
  • Certification in child CPR preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to lift at least 45 pounds.
  • Ability to engage with small children both on and off the floor.
  • Successful experience working with children at risk.
