Job Summary:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for repairing and/or replacing furniture components using both new and existing parts to the customer's satisfaction. The Field Service Technician works efficiently and accurately to ensure the job is completed on time and the project is successful.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews punch lists with Project Manager and Lead Installer; assesses jobs, scoping out repair / replacement tasks; identifies necessary tools and/or equipment needed for repairs to complete project.
- Repairs furniture per manufactures' instructions; repairs and customizes furniture to fit specific needs, including reconfiguring electrical components, fixing broken components, building customer parts, and touch up wood damaged products.
- Installs and adjust casegoods and seating products.
- Disassembles, moves and reassembles systems products.
- Deliver/Install small orders/projects.
- Determines whether items are repairable or require replacement. Contacts Project Manager, Lead Installer or Sales with questions and issues as needed.
- Handles general repairs per customer request.
- Assists in the warehouse with prebuilding, offloading trucks, putting product away, etc.
- Assists on orders/projects when more resources are needed.
- Obtains customer sign-off once job is complete.
- Updates Project Manager on progress and any issues.
- Completes Job Costing, Open Issue and Field Report daily.
- Problem solving and coming up with solutions while on site.
- Other duties as assigned.
High School degree or GED with a minimum of 3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in mechanical, electronic/electrical, construction, carpentry and/or installation;
Furniture installation, assembly and/or repair experience preferred.
