In this role, you will support the installation, programming, system start-up/check-out, certify, and customer train on assigned projects including small to large projects that vary in complexity. - Support Installations either hands on, training new colleagues, or help over the phone. Perform inspections and help with programming remotely or onsite, test & commission systems, and support the install and service team remotely or onsite on a variety of standard and non-routine systems and equipment which may include physical or electronic security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.
You are a key interface for the provision of remote and onsite technical support and is accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. - Reads basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures;
Interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools. - You are a key source of understanding security hardware for installation and service best practices. Your strengths include system knowledge, inspections, hardware functionality & compatibility, low-voltage circuitry understanding and system theory of operations. See the big picture of how the system should work for the customer and foresee issues if not used correctly.
- 2nd Level of technical support for the Project Team Leads and help resolve high level service calls.
- Is responsible for iTrac creation and updating as needed for all new installations and CSP inspections.
- Works with the Engineering Specialist to understand basic system software and certifications for remote programming and support needs. Understanding how the customer is using the system to know how to program the system.
- Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Consults with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
- May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards as well as suggestions for product improvements.
- Identifies potential project risks, communicates to appropriate parties and assist in the development and implementation of strategies to minimize impact and to control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
