The Sales Consultant is responsible for building foundational broker relationships, creating sales opportunities, and achieving sales goals. This role involves understanding broker needs, providing product and technology training, establishing regular contact with brokers, and supporting growth through strategic development and activity monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Meet or achieve monthly/annual sales goals.
- Recommend solutions to meet customer needs and resolve questions with guidance.
- Generate prospective broker opportunities using various sales strategies.
- Cultivate and expand current broker relationships.
- Analyze sales data to identify patterns and develop strategies.
- Identify areas for sales process improvements.
- Conduct training sessions on products, quoting tools, and market trends.
- Participate in industry events to generate leads and develop new business.
- Lead brokers through the sales cycle, from quote to implementation.
- Engage early in the renewal process to assess client needs.
- Maintain regular communication with brokers and provide tailored support.
- Demonstrate understanding of carrier products, industry trends, and underwriting guidelines.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure high customer service standards.
- Document activity in Agency Bloc.
- Uphold integrity and professionalism in all actions.
- Provide backup support within the department as needed.
- Residency near Sioux Falls, SD, and NW IA.
- Proven sales support track record.
- 1-2 years in healthcare/medical sales or service preferred.
- High school diploma or GED; higher education preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and consultative skills.
- Ability to multitask accurately in a complex environment.
- Knowledge of market factors, carriers, and legislation in IA and SD.
- Flexible, collaborative work style.
- Self-starter with strong communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality and effective negotiation skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Adaptability to new technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Agency Bloc.
- Valid IA and SD life/health insurance licenses.
- Travel 15-35% required.
- Salary: $71,250 - $95,000 annually plus bonus.
- Range may vary based on experience and skills.
Position is full-time, entry level, in Sales and Business Development within the Insurance industry.
