Lead Building Automation Engineer

Woodman Controls Company is seeking a skilled and experienced Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in HVAC controls, systems integration, and control system design who are ready to take ownership of complex projects and contribute to the growth of our team.

• Lead the design of complete building automation systems, including detailed control drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment schedules, and sequences of operation.
• Create and deliver complete software packages, including graphics and validated databases, ready for field implementation.
• Provide technical leadership during submittal, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Conduct field verification for retrofit and complex systems, collecting detailed documentation and resolving on‑site design questions.
• Work directly with Project Managers, field technicians, and third‑party vendors to ensure seamless system integration and execution.
• Maintain and manage deviation logs, software watch lists, and documentation updates to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Support and troubleshoot third‑party system integrations and legacy system upgrades.
• Mentor less‑experienced engineers and provide technical guidance across project teams.

• Proficiency with building automation platforms (Tridium Niagara preferred).
• In‑depth knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical integration, and control strategies.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Working experience with CAD or Visio for control system documentation.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
• High level of initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, HVAC technology, or related technical field (required).
• Minimum of 3–7 years of hands‑on experience in building automation and control systems design and programming.
• Strong project management and documentation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to job sites.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug screening and background checks.
