Project Engineer – Solid Waste Industry (Contract to Hire)

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer specializing in the solid waste industry. This role involves client interaction and problem‑solving to ensure timely project completion. You will oversee projects with a team, providing engineering support for current and future projects, primarily focusing on landfill and landfill gas systems. Other duties include permitting and designing solid waste facilities, monitoring construction operations, and conducting air quality permits.

• Oversee and manage engineering projects within the solid waste industry.
• Engage in client‑facing activities and problem‑solving to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Provide engineering support focused on landfill and landfill gas systems.
• Permit and design solid waste facilities.
• Monitor and oversee construction operations.
• Conduct air quality permitting.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in project management and land development.
• Knowledge in site development and environmental compliance.
• Understanding of stormwater management.
• Experience in civil and environmental engineering.
• 3+ years of related work experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Construction, or a related engineering field.
• E.I.T. certification preferred.
• Familiarity with relevant permits is preferred.
• Valid driver's license.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clive, IA.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
