Responsibilities- Design and drafting of engineering plans.
- Participate, as needed, in design meetings with engineering and client staff to fully understand expected project outcomes.
- Work under the guidance of engineers and project managers to complete assigned drafting tasks.
- Set up backgrounds, schedules, and details.
- Check and plot drawings.
- Correctly label final working drawings.
- Update contract drawings/specifications.
- Assist in setting up CADD standards.
- Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting it to the Project Manager for review.
- May prepare cost and quantity estimates.
- May perform design calculations.
- Report progress and maintain schedules.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Active member in CAD user groups or other technical societies.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent minimum.
- Associates Degree or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years of civil engineering design related experience required.
- Previous experience with Autodesk Products (Civil 3D).
- Previous experience with Bentley Products (Micro Station, Geo Pak, Open Roads, Open Bridge, etc.) preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Ability to take direction and express understanding of the directions received.
The estimated compensation range for this position is $30 to $45 per hour. This range is just an estimate for this posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon education, experience, and skills.
